Sugar Ray

Sugar Ray is a rock band with members from Newport Beach, Orange County, California. Millions-selling Alt Metal act incorporates reggae, turntablism and hip-hop for radio-friendly, teen girl-swooning results. Sugar Ray started out as a funky, alt metal band, but quickly morphed into a kinder, gentler band. Sugar Ray’s omnipresent 1997 hit “Fly” featured reggae artist Super Cat on vocals. In 2004, Sugar Ray frontman and pin-up boy Mark McGrath became co-host of the television show “Extra.” Often thought of as one-hit wonders, Sugar Ray had three Top-10 hits on the pop charts: “Fly,” “Every Morning” and “Someday.”

Disturbed

Listen to Disturbed
Disturbed is a rock band from Chicago, Illinois. The group was formed in 1996 when musicians Dan Donegan, Steve “Fuzz” Kmak, and Mike Wengren hired singer David Draiman in Chicago, Illinois. They have sold over 10 million albums worldwide. Originally classified as a metal band, Disturbed is now regarded by some music critics as hard rock or heavy metal, although others now regard them as alternative metal. However, the band’s genre is still being debated.
Since forming in Chicago in 1997, Disturbed has won many fans with the vein-popping, brute force of their alt metal. Disturbed frontman David Draiman grew up in a very religious family. It was here he first tasted rebellion. Vocalist David Draiman was expelled from five boarding schools in his adolescent years. Disturbed’s David Draiman says their message is about “finding things in life that you can be passionate about.” Before heading into the studio for 2005’s “Ten Thousand Fists,” bassist Fuzz left the band due to “personal differences.”

There is only one AC/DC. They play rock ‘n’ roll that’s more punk than punk and more metal than metal. They rule. AC/DC formed in Australia in 1973. 17 albums later, AC/DC still rocks it. Singer Bon Scott died from too much drugs, booze and satanism in 1980. Scott was replaced with Brian Johnson for the comeback album “Back In Black.” Like the Ramones, AC/DC never changed their trademark sound or their visual style.

AC/DC underwent several line-up changes before releasing their first album, High Voltage, in 1975. Membership remained stable until bassist Cliff Williams replaced Mark Evans in 1977. In 1979, the band recorded their highly successful album Highway to Hell. Lead singer and co-songwriter Bon Scott died on February 19, 1980, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The group briefly considered disbanding, but soon ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson was selected as Scott’s replacement. Later that year, the band released their best selling album, Back in Black.
